Auntie Sally

Auntie Sally was a generous lady who came to St Hildas to teach my class about her style of painting. She is a very talented artist and she paints her pictures upside down. It was a very good experience to have Auntie Sally come in to work with us.

My Self Portait Artwork

In term 2, my class and i were painting a piece of artwork of ourselves. Mrs Vincent took a self portrait of us all, doing a pose that we thought would suit us, this was very fun as we could express ourselves. My pose was with one of my arms facing straight toward the sky, and my other arm on my shoulder. Auntie Sally, who is a artist who came to our school to show us her way of painting and tell us her story, told us that she paints upside down, so you are looking at the lines and shapes, instead of just looking at yourself and assuming what you look like.
As i was drawing myself, upside down, i was a bit nervous about how it was going to turn out, i wanted to try my hardest, and do the best i could.
After i had drawn myslef, i started to paint with a wide range of colours. To add effect, we al had to dot around the picture, making shapes and different lines, with different colours, to make the piece of artwork stand out. This added a nice affect to my artwork. I spent many lunchtimes and the whole of my art lessons doing my artwork and i beleive i did a good job.

The Elements needed to draw a Gluestick

When I was drawing my glustick, I made sure that I used some of the art elements such as: tone, shape, line, form.
Tone: I used tone by making it look 3D aswell, because tone is shading and it looks like the gluestick is actually in front of you.
Line: Line was used by making the shape of the object, I used it because it made the glustick picture look 3D, line wwas what made the shape up, without it, it woudn't look like a shape.
Form: I used form by making it the outline of the shape.
Overall I used 3 elements of art to draw this gluestick.
